Tend not to eat burgers that are to be enjoyed with a clear conscience is no secret. For the filet-o-Fish commonly known as "Fish-Mac" McDonald's is now the change: He now contributes the MSC label.
The international blue MSC eco-label since the beginning of December on all fillet-o-Fish-boxes in the Austrian McDonald's restaurants to find and tell your guest that the fish comes exclusively from sustainable fisheries. In many of the 39 European countries McDonald's is the first company in the food service, the only MSC-certified fish offers white - as in Austria.

Fish pleasure without remorse

The fish fillet for the Filet-o-Fish in Austria comes from sustainable fisheries in the Atlantic. Fisheries, which have proven in an independent audit that they fish conservation and deal responsibly with the marine ecosystem may identify their catch with the MSC label.
The certification of the traceability chain to the MSC standard ensures that each can be easily traced back to the blue MSC eco-labeled fish to the fishing operation. Certified fisheries are subject to annual inspections and must renew their certification every five years.
"As the largest domestic catering business, we enforce the partnership with the Marine Stewardship Council aware of a sign of responsible procurement. This is just one of many measures to implement our commitment to sustainability into practice, "said Andreas Schwerla, Managing Director, McDonald's Austria.

Due to the success of sustainability

Cooperation with selected suppliers to ensure compliance with high standards in quality and traceable origin of the products in the current 179 restaurants in Austria. The beef for the burgers, milk, eggs for breakfast and potatoes for the fries are 100% from Austria and have been awarded the AMA seal of approval.
Even products that do not originate exclusively from Austria, is the agricultural quality program "MAAP" (McDonald's Agricultural Assurance Program), the McDonald's Austria, together with its suppliers to implement the same high quality standards. The Rainforest Alliance seal ensures good quality coffee at McCafe: The data used for the specialty coffee beans come exclusively from farms that meet defined standards (socially, environmentally and economically) for sustainable agriculture. The MSC certification for the Filet-o-Fish is also the logical continuation of the trend towards greater sustainability at McDonald's.
