Electric car named 2011 World Car of the Year
The Nissan Leaf electric car was named the 2011 World Car of the Year at the New York International Auto Show. The car has a top speed of 144 kilometers per hour and produces zero emissions. The car’s lithium-ion batteries allow it to be charged from a standard electric outlet, just like a mobile phone.
