Christmas; 

13 dead in Mexico's drug war

 

 The bloody drug war in Mexico has continued even at Christmas. In the city of Ciudad Juarez on the border with the United States in shootings, 13 people were killed as the authorities announced the Mexican state of Chihuahua on Saturday (local time). Eleven people were shot on Friday and two more for Christmas.



In Ciudad Juarez have been according to official figures since the beginning of some 3,000 people killed in the clashes, including 140 police officers. Since President Calderon took office four years ago, nationwide more than 30,000 people were killed. Calderon had started in December 2006, a massive military operation against the drug gangs.
