South Korea military exercise ended on island near disputed border
South Korea's military has completed its firing exercises on the island of Yeonpyeong, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
The exercise was about an hour after their commencement has been completed, Yonhap reported Monday. The South Korean Defense Ministry would not confirm this information at first, but announced a declaration to do so.
All civilians Yeonpyeong and four neighboring islands had been called in the morning as a precaution, soon to seek shelters. By thick fog, the start of the exercise had been delayed. The North Korean side had warned of massive threats before the shooting. The island had been shot four weeks ago during a similar exercise by North Korean artillery. Four people were killed.
